Building Regulations Part F 2010 introduced the requirement for testing fixed ventilations systems (Regulation 42, 2010). Following on from the inclusion of air tightness testing in Part L1 2006 significant improvements in as built measured air tightness were observed. Lower air tightness levels result in less natural infiltration and the importance of Build Tight, Ventilate Right becomes increasingly significant.
A recent Channel 4 investigation has highlighted the importance of having correctly installed fire dampers, and the need to have them properly maintained.
